Florida Home Owners Insurance

One of the main reasons home ownership in Brevard County, Florida has not been viewed as affordable over the past 4 years is due to the rising costs of insurance. 

It seems like the 2004 Hurricanes are to blame for that.  However to many people's surprise you would be amazed of the rates that some of the independant companies are quoted now a days.  I had a client that lived on the river that was paying in excess of $15,000 in annual premium that is now down to $4,000 this year. That's am amazing difference from the the rates from 2005 and 2006 from some of the big Franchise name brands. 

 Two of the big reasons insurance premiums have dropped significantly are thanks to the state funding for "My Florida Safe Home Program" that allows homeowners to get credits for having certain building code updates on their home, which significantly can lower your annual premium.
